Cuba Here We Come!
So...tomorrow I leave for Cuba! Yay! It's my grandmother's 75th birthday and the whole family is going. Before the embargo, my grandparents visited Cuba and fell in love with it. They're pretty passionate people and fall hard. Furthermore, they're pretty stubborn people and no embargo is going to stop them from going.
Here's my cute grandma (we call her Bubby):
They've been very involved with the Jewish community over there (which is markedly small, but very strong) and through and organization in Miami, have been able to go there and visit and help in any ways that they can (including building a holocaust memorial). Anyhow, we go with visas (i.e. completely legally) and get to see a country like no other.
This will be the second time we get to go with them. Last time my supertalented sister Liza (who you all know as the vegan baker, but is really a photographer) took these pics:
I can't wait to see her shots from this next trip!
Anyhow, I'll be pretty much off the grid for the entire week (though I'll do my best to check in with you guys as often as technology lets me), so Bret is going to be in charge. She entertains and educates me on a regular basis, so I figured who better to take my place?!?
I hope you all have a fabulous week and tons of fun with Bret in the house and I'll see ya on the flip side!
