Time for New Toms

My Toms have taken a beating!  I the spring, fall, and most of the summer I live in my Toms.  I usually have two pairs so it doesn't seem like I never change.  Last year I wore my way through a natural canvas and a black canvas pair.  They are super easy to slip on, extremely comfortable, and go with almost any daytime outfit.  I poked a whole through the black ones (see below) and the white ones, well...(see below for those too).  I just got shiny new blacks today and threw them in the wash (I do this with all my pairs, it kinda softens them and gives them that broken in look). Plus, Toms gives away a new pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes purchased.  They call it the One For One Movement.  It's a pretty brilliant business model where customers have the opportunity to purchase a product that is helping out the world and their feet;)  They even sell vegan Toms!

Shoes may seem farther down the list of priorities than you may have placed them, but so many children in developing countries grow up predominantly barefoot.  Unfortunately this can be really dangerous as many diseases and parasites are soil and sand transmitted.  Shoes avoid foot injuries and save children's feet from hot pavement and sharp rocks.  It's crazy to think that the basic things in life which we take for granted are luxuries for children in other parts of the world.

Here's a couple pics of my gross old Toms (uh, hello toes):

Here are the new ones I bought:
